0.1.1 India will host the 2nd India–Arab Foreign Ministers’ Meeting (IAFMM) in New Delhi.
0.1.2 Date of meeting: 31 January 2026.
0.1.3 The meeting is being organised after a gap of nearly a decade.

0.2 Co-Chairing and Participation
0.2.1 The meeting will be co-chaired by India and the United Arab Emirates (UAE).
0.2.2 Participants include Foreign Ministers and senior representatives of member states of the League of Arab States (LAS).
0.2.3 The Secretary-General of the Arab League will also participate.
0.2.4 This forum is the highest institutional mechanism guiding India–Arab cooperation.

0.3 Historical Background of India–Arab Dialogue
0.3.1 India and the League of Arab States signed a Memorandum of Understanding in March 2002 to institutionalise engagement.
0.3.2 The Arab–India Cooperation Forum was established in December 2008 through a Memorandum of Cooperation.
0.3.3 The cooperation framework was revised in 2013.
0.3.4 India holds Observer status in the 22-member Arab League.

0.4 Previous Meeting and Priority Areas
0.4.1 The first India–Arab Foreign Ministers’ Meeting was held in Bahrain in 2016.
0.4.2 Five priority areas identified were economy, energy, education, media, and culture.
0.4.3 Concrete activities across these sectors were outlined.

0.5 Significance of the 2nd Meeting
0.5.1 The New Delhi meeting will be the first time India hosts the Foreign Ministers’ Meeting.
0.5.2 Representatives from all 22 Arab League member countries are expected to attend.
0.5.3 Participation levels include Foreign Ministers, Ministers of State, or senior officials.
0.5.4 The meeting aims to review progress and expand cooperation in existing and new areas.
